Dear Parents and
Guardians,
A number of years ago
the Archdiocese of New
York developed a ‘Values
Integration Program” for
its schools. Here at St.
Frances, Christian
values are constantly
interwoven into lessons
and life experiences.
This year we have more
formally adopted the
ADNY program with its
mission,
“to inspire,
infusion, and integrate
Catholic values into the
education system of the
Archdiocese of New
York.”
“Because the Catholic
School is part of the
Church’s ministry, the
school should strive to
be a strong Catholic
Community united in the
conviction that Jesus is
Lord. Community is not a
state that is achieved,
but rather an ideal
toward which a group of
people is continually
working. Members
manifest concern for one
another. They share
responsibility for the
actions of the group.
Community members seek
clear and meaningful
communication with one
another and build a firm
and lasting relationship
among themselves as well
as the community as a
unit.”
Catholic Education
Community
A Values Integration
Program
Each month of the school year
brings a Value, Saint,
Scripture Passage and
Mystery of the Rosary
into focus. Throughout
the month teachers will
include this information
into the curriculum. At
home you can reinforce
this with your children,
have a family discussion
about the value, learn
more about the Saints,
etc. Each month faculty
members will look for
the student in their
class who best
exemplifies the ‘value
of the month.’ These
students will then be
named “Students of the
Month.” As recognition
they will receive a
special certificate,
have their picture taken
and displayed in the
main hallway opposite
our “SFdC in the News”
and “Academic Honors”
boards. Please feel free
to stop in and see these
displays.
We look forward to
adding many more names
to the list.
Sincerely,
Debra A. Trignani
